Loren Seery, MD

Cataract Surgeon, Corneal Specialist

Warm and engaging, Dr. Seery is soft-spoken with a relaxed, unhurried pace and enjoys connecting with those around him. People appreciate his kind, considerate demeanor. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of missionary parents, Loren spent his early years in Indonesia and New Guinea. When his family returned to Texas, he grew up in the small town of Keene, enjoying time spent outdoors and water skiing in the hot summers. In university, Loren majored in biology. He also earned his pilot’s license and spent a year in India as a student missionary. After medical school and ophthalmology residency training, Dr. Seery went on to complete a fellowship in cornea and external eye disease. For the next four years, Dr. Seery practiced on the island of Guam, performing cataract surgery and treating a wide variety of eye problems. In addition to eye missions, Dr. Seery’s interests include long-distance cycling, snorkeling and scuba diving, hiking, flying, church activities, prison ministry, and playing violin. He and his wife Karen, who has a master’s degree in elementary education, have a daughter and son—Ashlyn and Bryan. Dr. Seery is meticulous with details and passionate about helping others. “Sight is the sense people hold most dear and are most fearful of losing. So for eye care providers, it’s a great opportunity and responsibility.”
